Dads in Demand

As part of the ‘Dads in Demand’ project run by the Campaign for Learning, we would like to invite Year 6 children who are transferring to Haverstock in September, with their fathers or male carer to take part in a series of workshops to create a stop motion animation film. The Campaign for Learning is funded by the Big Lottery to work with dads or male carers so unfortunately we can only invite the men along this time but pupils can obviously be both girls and boys.

You will work as a team to create a story, characters and a set and make a stop motion animation film. You don’t need to bring anything along or have any previous experience using computers or making films; we will teach you everything you need to know. You will receive a copy of your animated film, a family fun guide with ideas for activities, websites and software and a free day trip to watch a premiere showing of your film at the British Film Institute.

Dates: 25 June, 2 July, 9 July (optional third session if you don’t finish your films)
Time: 10am- 1pm
Location: Haverstock School, 24 Haverstock School, London, NW3 2BQ

Places are limited so if you would like to attend with your child, please return the reply slip on the letter attached to this article to Nikki Haydon at Haverstock via the school office by 17th June 2011. To look at the films that have been made so far visit
