Classroom of the Future

COF

The classroom has been shortlisted for the 2008 Royal Instuitute of British Architects award.

Inside there are eight computers that can be used in a standing or sitting position and a large plasma screen that is ideal for videoconferencing or displaying work. The classroom can also be used as an indoor/outdoor space; the side door lowers to become a performance area that utilises the fully integrated sound system.

The Braincell with the stage lowered

In the 2008 summer term the following students and teachers - Simeon Hammond-Dallas (10E), Azania Hammond-Dallas, Charley Kemp and Joe Allen - performed live on the Braincell stage watched by an enthusiastic lunchtime student audience.

The Braincell was also used to host a year 10 work experience project in which students worked with a professional designer to produce a website for a local hair salon.

Citizenship students used the conferencing facility to learn about Victorian prison reform. This exciting project was organised by the House of Commons education department.
