Children's Mental Health Week
Haverstock School working in partnership with Place2Be is proud to support Children’s Mental Health Week next week, 6th to 10 February 2017.
What’s it all about?
We’ve all known someone going through a tough time, whether it’s a big change such as moving home or school, a relationship breaking down, or coping with the loss of a loved one.
At these times it can be hard to know what to do to help, especially where children are involved. It may sound simple but we know that small acts of kindness can make all the difference.
Calendar for 2016/17

Crisis at Christmas
For the third year running we will be welcoming 250 homeless sleepers as guests at Haverstock over the Christmas period. In assemblies students in Years 7, 8. 9, 12 and 13 will learn more about the reasons for homelessness and how Crisis supports people all through the year—and students will be encouraged to support in more tangible ways by donating toiletries and appropriate food. Year 9 students will once again be producing a welcome wall with messages for our guests. Any adults who want to volunteer to help out during the Christmas period x can go to the Crisis website ( www.crisis.org.uk) and sign up by following the instructions there. You will be able to select that you want to do so at Haverstock by selecting the Winter’s Residential Centre at Chalk Farm. You can also choose to volunteer with a friend – this means that once one person is signed up, others can use their unique code to select their shifts. You can ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you to give up your time at Christmas. More information here: www.crisis.org.uk/sponsor ...Read More
