Welcome to our 2022 Freshers

If your child is starting at Haverstock in September 2022, welcome! We're very pleased to have you join us.

Starting Year 7 is the first step on an exciting new school journey for your child. Between now and September, we’ll help your child get settled, make new friends, and grow their confidence so they’re all set to succeed. Please read on to see what events we have planned for you and your child!

• Year 7 Induction Day - 6 July, 9.15

The whole of Year 6 should come to school at 9.15 where they will meet their Year Leader, their tutor, take a tour of the school and take part in some sample lessons so they begin to understand our routines ahead of September. It is also the first opportunity for them to meet the other Year 6 who will be their new tutor group peers.

• Summer Holiday - Time to read, work but also relax!

On 6 July, your child will be given their Year 7 Transition booklet, which is full of enjoyable activities to ensure they continue to learn over the summer and are ready for the challenges ahead. Please read it together and encourage them to complete the activities over the summer break.

• The Big Day! - Monday 5 September, 8.30-12.45

The first day of term for Year 7 is Monday 5 September; a day where our new students will have the school all to themselves (as our other year groups start later in the week). Please drop your child off at our Crogsland Rd entrance at 8.30, where they will be welcomed by staff before commencing a programme of activities to ensure they're comfortable in their new surroundings. On Monday 5 September only, students will finish at the earlier time of 12.45.

We understand that secondary transition is exciting but can also be a nervous time for children and parents, so we want to support you wherever we can. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us on the link below.
