Our first PSHCE lesson will take place on Tuesday 22nd September, Period 1. Students will have 18 PSHCE lessons across the academic year, following a spiral curriculum. This means students revisit key themes and build on their knowledge and understanding as they progress through the school.
This term, students will focus on:
Year 7: Empathy, roles and responsibilities, democracy and the importance of having their voice heard.
Year 8: Risky behaviours, including the dangers of tobacco and recreational drugs.
Year 9: Social media and online safety, building on their Year 8 learning.
Year 10: Managing money and exploring stereotypes.
Year 11: Careers, including interview skills and valuable employability skills.
Sixth Form: The UCAS process and the judiciary.
I am really looking forward to dropping into lessons throughout the term and hearing all the brilliant questions and discussions that take place in our PSHCE lessons.
Nazifa Hannan,
Head of Personal Development & Citizenship | Y7 Year Lead
