Extra Curricular, Trips & Activities
We offer our students a varied and lively programme of activities, with something to suit all interests.
You can see some of the brilliant work produced by our students in these sessions – including our young writers project Words Awry, Stories Told and our Bronze Arts Award – in the page menu at the right of this screen.
BEFORE SCHOOL Students can arrive at school from 7.30am and have access to computers, books and newspapers in the library. Every morning our students can work out in our active outdoor fitness gym from 8.00am until 8.30am.
AT LUNCHTIMES We offer a range of leisure and study activities every lunchtime ranging from Inter-tutor competitions, ICT, fitness sports, jewellery making and quiet study sessions. Many of these are supervised by our trained team of sixth formers.
AFTER SCHOOL From 3.15pm a wide variety of clubs and activities are available. Students can do homework in the library with support from sixth formers until 4.30pm. The Inclusion team provides more personalised homework support after school on two days each week. Sports activities including basketball, football, gymnastics, karate, trampolining and free running are offered during the week alongside specific subject clubs such as maths, ICT, science, STEM, business, media, design and technology and art. In the run up to coursework deadlines and exams, all subject areas offer a programme of support and revision sessions after school.
HALF TERMS AND HOLIDAYS We provide sports programmes in most holidays as well as hosting other holiday activities in collaboration with the Roundhouse, Arsenal and Bloomsbury football, The Challenge and Camden Summer University. Summer schools in July and August for the new Year 7 students are sometimes also able to accommodate students from other years. Holiday revision programmes are available in the holidays before exam periods.
LINKS WITH THE ROUNDHOUSE We encourage students to participate in the music, drama, and media courses offered by the Roundhouse after school, at weekends and during the holidays. Free music and circus skills clubs run at the Roundhouse each week for Haverstock students and are a great way for students to develop their skills and gain confidence in a new environment.
The extra-curricular programme is available at the start of each term via Haverstock News, by clicking on the link below or as a booklet from the school office.
