An Invitation To All Parents And Carers To Share Your Views.

Headteacher James Hadley writes:

With the support of parents and through the hard work of students and their teachers, we have made huge improvements to the school in the last two years and we're now considering how to improve the quality of education at the school further.

We’re inviting parents to give their views on a proposal by the Governors to shorten the length of the student day by an hour on a Friday and use the hour for staff training. If the proposal goes ahead, it would mean that the five lessons and lunchtime on a Friday would be shortened by ten minutes so that lessons finish at 2pm. We would expect students to spend the hour completing homework and revision and we will provide a quiet supervised study space at the school to support them to do this. There would be no change to the school day from Mondays to Thursdays.

The Governors and I believe this change would provide us with an opportunity to make great strides to improve the school in the near future. We hope that the proposal has your support and we invite you to share your views with us before we arrive at a final decision.

This can be done by completing a short online survey at the link here:

  Complete the survey online.

Paper versions are also available from the school office, and have been mailed to all parents and carers. Completed consultation forms can be handed in to the school office or via your child to Student Services by Monday 8 July.

If you would like to meet to discuss face-to-face, please do drop in to my Headteacher’s surgery on Fridays 8am-10am.

Thank you,

J Hadley.
