PRESS RELEASE - GCSE Results Summer 2021

It was a long wait for this year’s GCSE students after exams were again cancelled and teacher assessment was used to determine students’ grades.

The Class of 2021 were celebrating today after achieving grades that were significantly better than previous years despite the disruption of the pandemic

Top performers include:

Sabrina Gozzo De Souza who achieved Seven Grade 9s and One Grade 8 and joins Haverstock’s Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry and Geography.

Zeynab Hassan who achieved One Grade 9, Five Grade 8s, Two Grade 7s and One Grade Six and joins Haverstock’s Sixth Form to study Engineering Design, Maths and Physics.

Aysha Begum who achieved Six Grade 9s, One Grade 8 and Grade 7 and joins Haverstock’s Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology

James Hadley, Headteacher at Haverstock said: “This group of students did everything they could to overcome the problems faced by the pandemic, including attending over 95% of their online lessons when the school was closed and revising diligently for their exams until the very end of Year 11. We are all very proud of what they have achieved and are hugely thankful to our wonderful staff who supported them every step of the way.

Mark Mayne, Deputy Head at Haverstock added: “It has been a great privilege to lead our rigorous school assessment process and to see Haverstock students meeting the challenges of the year, achieving grades which reflect a great depth of knowledge and understanding, and which provide a superb platform for the next stage of their education. “
