Year 10 Triple Science Become Medical Students For A Day.

Last Wednesday, 9 March, our Year 10 Triple Science students spent the afternoon learning what it's like to be a doctor, under the guidance of medical students from King's College London.

Our science students were taking part in the second of their Medical Activity Days, and this time they were learning all about the heart. After making and studying a model of the heart, our students delved into some practical hands-on medical work - taking blood samples and blood pressure readings. They also had the opportunity to quiz the visiting medics about what really happens on a typical day in the life of a medical student.

Year 10 student Aineias (pictured above) says, ‘It was a really fun session that helped us understand how the heart works and how the blood flows around our body.’

Kaylor says, ‘The sessions have helped me understand the practical side of medicine such as CPR, blood tests and pressure.’

Nafisa adds, ‘It was so fun! I want to be a dentist or a pharmacist, or maybe a doctor, but I know it will be really hard and take lots of dedication.’
